Sao Paulo – Brazil
From the outside, it’s obvious that the Hotel Unique deserves is name. An open watermelon or a shipwrecked vessel depending on one’s imagination, this inverted arc by architect Ruy Ohtake, leaves no one indifferent. Upon entering the common areas at the reception salon, the high ceilings and the leaning bar welcome visitors into the creative and daring world of this urban iconoclast. Going through the upstairs corridors opens up an extraordinary world leading all the way to the rooms, in which planks of wood follow the rounded contours of the building. On the top floor, the Skye Bar offers guests a magnificent view of Sao Paulo. Very popular with trendy local inhabitants, the bar is also a gastronomic restaurant under the supervision of the renowned chef, Emmanuel Bassoleil whose cuisine is a blend of French specialties and local Brazilian products.
