The G Hotel in the center of Galway explodes onto the provincial atmosphere of this city in western Ireland. Sprung from the imagination of the whimsical creator, Philip Treacy, this daringly psychedelic design hotel plunges guests into an off the wall universe. The 101 glamorous and originally designed rooms in vivid colors, cast a veil of eccentricity over this doll’s house looking building. From the lobby to the ceilings of the suites, the interiors defy convention and lead guests behind the scenes of a strange world where, after accustoming themselves to the site, succumb to the charms of its gentle madness. The G Hotel, on the streets of the dynamic city of Galway, offers guests a unique experience, plunging them into the heart of a unique and unusual experience.

Galway

Ireland is a magical country rich in living legends and folklore as well as in rough, natural, poetic and arid regions, creating contrasting and unforgettable landscapes. Add to this incredible environment a people whose hospitality is legendary and whose painful history has left deep scars, and you have the charm of Ireland, a blend of melancholy and a contagious lust for life. Instead of imposing one’s own rhythm on the country, tourists should let themselves be carried away by this country they always leave with a touch of sadness, convinced that they will have to return to find what they left behind. Connemara is a region located in the west of Ireland, in the county of Galway. It’s a land battered by high winds, consisting of islands and peninsulas where local inhabitants raise sheep and the famous Connemara ponies. At the entrance to this mythical region, we find Galway, a dynamic city of tourists and students and a must stop, since it’s a condensed version of what is best throughout all of Ireland. This extremely energetic city has adapted well to the modern era and to the increasing number of tourists.

A totally out of place hotel

The G Hotel, opened in 2006 and created by fashion designer, Philip Treacy is positive proof that Galway is a city with incredible vitality. This famous creator of extravagant hats and a native of Galway, has worked for Alexander McQueen, Chanel and Givenchy and has even created models for the British royal family. The G is his first hotel, and as he himself has said, he wanted to create a gigantic and particularly glamorous doll’s house. The result is a five-star establishment considered to be one of the most well reputed hotels in Ireland and also one of the most surprising! The G is totally unbridled and off the wall, and although it is very glamorous, it’s the most gleaming pop culture establishment one can find. Loud, eccentric colors lend a theatrical atmosphere to this creation, which is actually a psychedelic vision of the Versailles Palace! Philip Treacy allowed his imagination to run free, and the result is an atypical and daring hotel, which guests perhaps have to first master before falling madly in love with it. How can anyone not be amazed by the tremendous difference between the landscapes of Ireland’s west coast and the 101 incredibly mad rooms?! It seems like a space that was passionately taken over by Andy Warhol for a 1920s nightclub revue! The G Hotel is undoubtedly a unique experience, not merely for Ireland, but for all of Europe.

Although all of the G’s rooms and suites are faithful to the off the wall spirit of Philip Treacy, the jewel of the hotel and the most prestigious is the Linda Evangelista suite which consists of 120 square meters of pure, unbridled and colorful luxury, guaranteeing the privileged guests unbelievable memories for decades and decades to come!
